South Jakarta Participants Optimistic to Win Urban Farming Video Competition

Participants from South Jakarta are optimistic to win the Urban Farming Content Video Competition 2024 held by Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Agency.

Suherti explained that apart from being used as plant fertilizer, cow dung is also used as a source of renewable energy, biogas. This biogas fuels gas and electric stoves in 20 residents' homes.
"It seems like we are the first to do this, especially in Jakarta. Hopefully our video content will be a winner and can motivate other people, not only in Jakarta but in Indonesia" she hoped.
Another participant from South Jakarta, Khairul Nur Fajri, said a similar thing. He believes that the urban farming melon cultivation video content he made at Edukasi Masa Depan Farm, Jalan Bunga Mayang V, Bintaro Urban Village, Pesanggrahan Sub-district will be the best.
"I created the content according to the name of my farm. As a young generation, I also want to educate the public, especially Gen Z, in maintaining food security by utilizing simple land," he stated.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Agency's Urban Farming and Counseling Head, Taufik Yulianto, explained this competition aims to give information to the public that agricultural activities can be carried out anywhere, including in big cities like Jakarta.
"All the video content created by the participants is really interesting. They present urban farming techniques or locations that are different from usual, making us amazed as the verification team," he said.
Taufik hopes that this competition can make people more concerned about food security and good and correct use of the environment.
